What Foundation Does My Shed Need?

We Provide the Concrete Pavers #

You do not need to pour a full concrete slab. We supply and install concrete paver blocks to level and support the shed. We can work with several surface conditions:

  • Level grass or dirt — We bring the pads and level as needed
  • Gravel pad — A pre-prepared gravel base is ideal for drainage and long-term stability
  • Existing concrete — An existing level slab works well

Gravel Pad Specifications #

If you choose to prepare a gravel pad before installation, here are the general specs:

  • Use clean crushed gravel (3/4″ crush) — not round river stone
  • 4-6 inches deep, compacted
  • At least 6 inches larger than the shed footprint on all sides
  • Surface must be level

Significant Slopes or Soft Soil #

For challenging sites, a retaining wall or poured concrete foundation may be recommended for long-term stability. We’ll advise you on the best approach during your consultation.

💡 Tip: Not sure if your site needs special preparation? Describe it to us and we’ll help you figure out the right approach before installation day.
