Spring Is the Best Time for an Annual Check #
After each Alberta winter, take 10 minutes to walk through this checklist:
- Inspect the exterior for paint cracking, caulking separation, or siding damage
- Check roof shingles for any winter damage — look for cracked, curled, or missing shingles
- Inspect the floor inside for signs of moisture or movement
- Lubricate door hinges and check door alignment
- Clear winter debris from around the base of the shed
- Ensure drainage around the foundation is flowing away from the shed
💡 Tip: Catching small issues in spring — like a crack in the caulking — is much easier and cheaper than dealing with water damage later in the season.
