Featured Shed of the Week - Week of February 6, 2012

Terry asked us to build a 8' x 10 shed at his Southeast home in the neighborhood of Douglasdale.  Terry used to have a resin shed built in his back yard which got torn to pieces by a wind storm back in November.  We were happy to tell him that with our wooden sheds this was guaranteed to never happen again.  Terry was also ecstatic that he got to design his shed with our help from style and add on's, to the color. We installed 48" double doors and one window package.

We sided Terry's shed with our Deluxe Series siding and Terry choose a light green and white trim to finish off the look.  We also added a Skirting Package. Terry was very appreciative with his end result and will be enjoying his new shed for years to come.

This shed was a great addition to his backyard and solved all of his storage situations. Terry's new shed will not be blowing away anytime soon!

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of January 30, 2012

Zaneb came to us asking that we design a shed to fit alongside her Northeast Saddle Ridge home because her back yard lacked the space to place a shed.  She asked that it be the the perfect size so that there was still walking space beside the house and didn't completely block off the space.  After careful measuring we decided to go with a 4' x 12' Lean To model. This was a perfect fit for the space.  Leaving enough movement room but tons of storage for Zaneb's possessions.

To complete her shed Zaneb added a set of 48" double doors. As well as 4 faux window packages.  The unit turned out great! Zaneb went with a taupe color as the body and a crisp white for the trim. We sided the shed in our Deluxe series siding and added a skirting package to make the whole unit complete.

With Zaneb's new shed she gained lots of storage and still was able to keep her backyard space.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of January 23, 2012

Steve requested that we built him a shed at his Northwest Edgemont home that could store his garden tools and also his motorcycle. After planning and taking a look at Steve's backyard we decided to go with an 8' x 12' model which would provide him with ample space for his garden items as well as his bike.  To make access easy for Steve we placed a set of 48" double doors on the 8' wall which be used for parking his motorcycle easily.  On the 12' wall we installed another set of 48" double doors and two window packages. This entrance will be utilized for accessing his garden storage section of the shed.

Steve's shed was sided with our Deluxe series siding giving it a nice clean cut look. With both sets of doors and two windows this gave Steve's shed tons of natural lighting and a very unique look. He decided to go with more subtle neutral colors for his paint color and trim.  To finish it all off we installed a Skirting Package around the base of the shed, making this unit complete.

For Steve's needs this shed was a perfect design. It was a amazing addition to his back yard.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of January 9, 2012

Dale lives in the Northwest community of Royal Oak and came to us looking for 2 - 8' x 12' sheds to fit nicely in his backyard. He simply wanted something that was going to stand out and be a feature in his backyard but be capable of housing all his yard tools and unwanted clutter.  We placed one on the left hand side of the yard and one on the right. Creating a substantial amount of storage for all his personal belongings.

The sheds were installed on fairly severe slopes in his back yard but we were able to level them out properly and make them fit the space.  Each shed came with a set of 48" double doors with plexiglass and two window packages on either side of the double doors.  We sided Dales shed's with our Deluxe Series siding, giving them a clean streamlined look.  Dale decided to go with the same paint and trim color for both sheds.

With these two extra storage spaces Dale was able to enjoy all the features of his back yard to their full extent without having un- needed clutter or tools in the way.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of January 2, 2012

Robert came to the Shed Solutions Showroom wanting to find a Lean To model that would be best suited for his home in the Southeast community of Silverado.  He was specific as to where he would like it positioned and we were able to design the shed to his request.  He wanted a spacious shed that would allow lots of room for storage and an organized system for all his belongings that needed to be put away.

Once we took a look at the area where Robert wanted to place the shed we realized we would have to customize a few options.  For Roberts 8' x 12' Lean To model we customized the door position to accommodate the placement of the shed along side his house. The door was still a standard 32' single door but we moved in off centered so it would be able to open easily without hassle.  He only asked to have one window package installed along the side.  We built 2"x 6" roof trusses to strengthen the roof, while making the space feel nice and open. With an added Skirting Package we were able to complete Roberts dream shed.

Robert's shed was sided with our Deluxe Series of siding.

With a positive finish, this was a great addition to Roberts home.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of December 26, 2011

Mike was looking to get a shed he could put aside his pool to store all his pool equipment. He wanted the area around the pool to look clean cut and relaxing. After spending time planning things out in his Southeast Copperfield home in Calgary, we came up with a 6' x 14' Jasper model.  Mike supplied a concrete pad that we placed his shed over.  We felt this was a better option for the kind of shed he was looking to create. The shed perfectly fit along side Steve's fence yet still leaving enough walk through space.

When Mike asked how many windows come with a shed package he was happy to find out he could add as many as he wanted.  Taking this to his advantage he placed one window package centered on the right side wall, two window packages along the front wall, accompanied by 48" Double doors centered with plexiglass on the left side wall. With all the light shining into Mike's shed he was completely satisfied that he was able to design his shed with our professional help.

For Mike's shed we sided it with our Deluxe Series siding to make it clean lined and simple.  We also matched the shed's base color and trim to Mike's house.  This made his shed a feature to his backyard.

With all the equipment hidden and organized this made Mike's shed a very successful build.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of December 19, 2011

Liezl came to us in hopes of finding a functional storage shed to suit her back yard without taking away any of the main area her and her family use for day to day enjoyment. Her Northwest home which is nestled in the Country Hills Area of Calgary had a slightly slanted back yard. Since the slanted part was never usually used for daily activities she asked that we build the shed next to her home.

We told Liezl it would not be a problem to put the shed on the side of the house as long as we could create a level space. Liezl took it into her hands to create a retaining wall which our 6' x 8' Jasper model fit perfectly. The shed was built with centered 48" double doors which open facing the main backyard area making access very easy. To add extra lighting a window package was installed on the Left Side Wall of Liezl's shed.  The shed was sided with our Deluxe Series siding and finished off in a creme paint with a brown trim.

Lizel and her family were so pleased to have a shed in their yard making it easy to store all the activities they love doing. Without the hassle of having it in the way of the main yard area it was a perfect solution.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of December 12, 2011

Steve came to us looking for a practical solution for storage of bikes and lawn equipment in Calgary's South East neighborhood of Auburn Bay. He wanted something that would blend in with his house and not stand out too much. He wanted to make sure it added to his house's curb appeal and was aesthetically pleasing.

We showed Steve our 5' x 8' Lean To plan and he loved it. Because it was positioned facing the street Steve choose to not have a plexiglass window installed in the 32" door. Leaving a simple and streamlined look. Steve's shed was sided with our Deluxe series product line. We were able to identically match the sheds paint color and trim to the house almost making it blend in. To finish the look off Steve got the Skirting Package installed.

Steve was ecstatic that such a simple design added character and a much needed storage solution to his home. Now he can fully enjoy and take pride in his front yard.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of December 5, 2011

Rob asked us to create him a garden shed at his home located in the North West part of Calgary, that would be useful for all his garden tools and storage for his lawn furniture during the winter months. He requested that it would be easily accessable, yet not take up space from his back yard. We suggested placing it between the wall of his house and his fence.

After quick measurements and a space saving Lean To plan we were able to design a 4'x 8' shed for Rob. Because Robs shed was going to be placed between the house and fence we only installed a 32' door on the front of the shed.    

Robs shed was sided with our Deluxe Series of siding and painted to match their home with an interesting  trim color in a burnt orange. Just to add a tiny flare to his new addition.

What a functional addition to the property.  Rob and his wife now can truly enjoy their ample space in their backyard which is now clutter free.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of November 28, 2011

Leanne and her husband have a vacation property in Gull Lake, Alberta.  Their family spends the majority of the summer at this property and they wanted to add a bunk house for their children.  The bunk house / shed measured 10' x 12' and included a set of 64" double doors and one window.

The bunkhouse was sided with our Elite Series of siding and painted to match their home.  As you can see the Elite Series of siding matches directly with the Hardie Board they have on their home.

In addition to the bunk house for their children Shed Solutions provided Leanne with a small dog house that was used to enclose the pump for their water well.

What a great addition to the property.  Now Leanne and her husband can truly enjoy their time together while the children play in their new "fort".

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of November 21, 2011

Karen just couldn't get enough of us at Shed Solutions.  In the summer of 2010 Karen had us build her a 10' x 10' shed on a concrete pad.  The shed turned out great and originally featured a set of 48" double doors and 2 window packages.  One window package was positioned along the left side wall.

In 2011 Karen came back to Shed Solutions and asked us to build her a 8' x 12' addition on the side of her shed.  The addition would be used to house all of her husbands "stuff" as she did not want it clogging up her space in the 10' x 10'.

We built the addition with a 2' x 4' window on the left side wall to allow a lot of natural light.  The door opening was just over 6' to allow for a garden tractor to be pulled in and out.  We built the roof offset to give the 2 buildings a little more dimension.

Featured Shed of the Week - Week of November 7, 2011

Sean and his family were looking for a unique shed.  They wanted an 8' x 12' model with some specific modifications.  They wanted the doors to be moved to one of the 8' walls instead of their normal position centred on the 12' wall.  We then adjusted the positioning of the windows on the 12' wall to evenly space them out.

The major change that Sean wanted was an extension of the roof to provide a 6' x 8' enclosure on his patio.  This created two roof lines as the remaining 4' did not have the extension.  The shed was equipped with an electrical package including 2 interior lights, 2 interior plugs, one exterior light, and two pot lights housed in the soffit extension.

This beautiful garden shed was a great addition to Sean's yard.

Emily had a unique spot in her Southwest Calgary yard for her garden shed.  Emily has a walkout basement in Discovery Ridge and underneath her deck there was a spot that was perfect for a Shed Solutions shed to be installed.

We were able to build the shed with a flat roof because the unit was completely enclosed under the deck.  This allowed us to maximize the overall wall height of the shed giving plento of head room while inside the building.

There was a support column positioned at the front right portion of the shed, therefore the doors needed to be positioned to the left hand side of the front wall.  In positioning the doors in this manner it maximizes the available storage space inside the shed.

We also installed a window on the right side wall to allow some natural light into the building.

The overall dimensions of the shed measured 6 1/2' x 6 1/2' with 8' tall walls.

Chris and his wife were looking for a shed that would maximize the available storage space while leaving them with as much of their yard as possible.  What Shed Solutions designed for them was a 8' x 12' shed that fit nicely in the back left corner of their yard.  This portion of the yard was not used a lot and the main access point to the back yard was from the left side of the house.

This shed was built in a newer Southeast Calgary community in a medium sized yard.  Therefore, by positioning the shed in the back left hand corner of the yard tight to the fence lines it gave Chris and his wife easy access to the shed and maximized the size of the shed while using up as little of their yard as possible.

Robert had a beautiful yard in Southwest Calgary and like many others experienced the need for additional storage space. Robert just finished a major renovation to the exterior of his home and wanted to incorporate a shed that matched well with the changes that were made.

The exterior renovations to his home included the use of Smart Board, therefore our Deluxe line of sheds complemented his home nicely.

The picture to the right shows the view of the shed from his back deck.  The shed measures 8' x 10' in size and features a set of 48" double doors and one window package.

We centered the set of double doors on the 10' front wall and placed the window package on the 8' right hand side wall.  Doing so allowed Robert to maximize the shelving on the inside while also making the shed look visually appealing from his back deck.

Karen had a very common scenario in her yard.  She has a walk-out basement and a wide side yard that would be a perfect place to put a shed.  The issue that comes with building a shed along a walkout is the slope of the yard.  Typically it is not a problem to block level underneath a shed to make the floor level.  But, in the case of a walkout basement it is not recommended to level the floor this way.

In Karen's case we recommended having a retaining wall built around the shed.  For the longevity of the building and from a practicality standpoint this was the best option.

The shed itself measures 8' x 8' and features 2 window packages and a set of 48" double doors with windows.  Karen requested that the wall against the house be built 10' tall in order to get extra storage space higher up in the unit.  We also built a 5' x 8' attic/shelf on the interior of the shed.

Complete with paint to match her home, Karen now has a functional storage shed placed in a part of her yard that was never used that looks great!

This beautiful garden shed was built for Tom B. and his wife. The shed was installed in the Southeast Calgary community of Chaparral. Tom and his wife live on the ridge overlooking Chaparral Valley and Fish Creek Provincial Park, and wanted to have a shed that could be a feature in their yard, along with being functional.

This shed was installed with multiple roof lines to give the shed some dimension and a different look and feel. The building features our "Elite Series of Siding", a custom 36" door, 3 paint colours, 4 faux windows, and 2 active windows.

The shed measures 7' x 10' in size giving Tom lots of room for storage. The shed was also insulated to help moderate the temperature during the summer and winter months.
